Admissions & open days

Please click here to see our School tour video for an insight into life at Overstone Primary School. I would also like to welcome you to attend a tour around the school grounds when you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you do wish to attend one of our tours, please ring the school office on 01604 493861 to book your place. Due to the current restrictions, we ask that only one adult attends per child and each tour will be limited to 5 people in order for everyone to remain socially distanced.

I look forward to meeting some of you soon and I hope you find the virtual tour informative when you view it. However, if you do still have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best wishes,

Janice Mardell

Arrangements for New Reception Pupils Joining Overstone Primary School.

When your child is allocated a place here at Overstone, they are invited to come into school for two “stay and play” sessions in the summer term, before the summer holidays. We also welcome you to come in for one of these sessions to join myself and other Reception parents and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. This is a good opportunity to informally ask any questions you might have too.

Pupils then receive a visit at home at the beginning of the Autumn term in September. This enables the Reception staff to meet your child in their own environment where they feel comfortable. Following this, we welcome the children into school part time for a week when they go home after lunch. They then start school full time.

If any child finds it difficult to settle initially, we will of course work with you as parents/carers to ensure a smooth transition into school for them.

It is always a pleasure to welcome the new Reception pupils and their families into our school community. It is our aim to make your child’s transition into primary school smooth and to ensure their experience of school life is exciting and happy from the start.
